“ROBOT & SCARECROW”

The Robot and Scarecrow is a short sci-fi film. A summer music festival was shown on the beginning of the film. There is a pop princess robot who was dancing in the festival, near the festival was a field where in there’s a lonely scarecrow who gets tortured by crows. The scarecrow then left the field and headed to the festival where he met the robot. The pop princess robot (with a dying battery cell) ran away from its owner knowing that this is her last night of existence before being powered down. She ran into the scarecrow, hoping to spend her last hours living a real life. The two lost and lonely souls spent one glorious night together, exploring everything the festival has while quickly falling in love and the two have had the perfect 24 hour party experience. The scarecrow doesn’t realize that his love’s  battery is dying and the her life is soon to end/fade. At the last scene of the film, the scarecrow was seen back on his field walking.

I think that the short film is nice, it was able to show the messages clearly. The message of the film is that life is short so, we shouldn’t waste it. We shouldn’t try to please others instead we should find our own happiness and that we should do the things that we love while we are still alive since nothing lasts forever.

This week was the last week for the campaign of the student council. Two of my classmates are currently running for a position, Neryssa for governor and Patrice for Vice governor. There party is called the RED PARTY, they’re teamed up with Mabby Amparo (Grade 9, running for secretary) and Inaki Lopez ( Grade 8, running for treasurer). I support their team not only because they’re my friends but I know that they will be able to lead the school properly and they’re responsible students. I hope they win!!

Nothing much happened in school this week. It was just a regular school week wherein we do our projects, reports, pass our homework, have seat works and quizzes etc. This week, a new typhoon entered the PAR (Typhoon Ompong). Based on PAGASA, it’s a strong typhoon so we must be ready and evacuate if our homes are flood prone areas. Typhoon Ompong is also the reason why classes today were cancelled.

I wish for everyone to stay safe!

Today is the celebration of our Linggo ng Wika. Students per grade level are required to perform their assigned songs. For us, it’s “Sumayaw Sumunod” and we were able to perform it nicely although there were a few mistakes. The other grade levels also performed and I loved their dance. After the program, we had a little “Salo salo” in our classroom. I’m happy to say that we won the 4th place at least, we really put our best in our performance and I think that we deserved that spot.

For this week, we had a our “Pa Larong Pinoy” and “Quiz Bee”. My classmate, Neryssa and I was the representatives of our class for the Quiz Bee but we weren’t on the same team. I was teamed up with a grade seven student and a grade twelve student, we honestly went there unprepared. We weren’t able to review anything for the contest since we had so much home works and projects to finish but luckily, my team won!!! We got the first place while Neryssa’s team got the second place 🙂 We also had the Pa Larong Pinoy, there were a lot of games like Sack Race, Calamansi Relay, Tug of War, Fish, Chinese Garter and many more. Our branch, Narra (Grade 11 and Grade 3) won two times. We didn’t win all the games but at least we had fun :))

We are not supposed to have school today but we have exams so we have no choice but to attend school. This week is our exam week, for the elementary and Junior High school it’s their 1st Quarter exam while for the senior high school it’s our Mid Term exam only. Honestly. the exams are easy ONLY if you studied it really well. I hope that my classmates and I will all get high scores or at least passing scores. Today, we also stayed late to finish our dance (Sumayaw Sumunod) and tried to make props (Pom poms).

For this week, nothing much happened. We just had our normal schedule of classes, had some seat works, learned new lessons and did our projects. We also started making the choreography of “Sumayaw Sumunod” for our performance in Linggo ng Wika which is our Mid term exam in Filipino and P.E. We had no class on August 21 (Tuesday) since it was Ninoy Aquino Day.

I was really busy this week, I prepared my presentation for ICT and in Filipino. Sabrina, Neryssa and I are also finishing our thesis that is supposed to be passed next week. We also practiced our dance number (Sumayaw Sumunod) in Filipino for the upcoming  program: Linggo ng Wika. We (the Grade 11 students) also found out our results in our pre-lim, luckily everyone got high marks :). Asides from these nothing really much happened.

For this week, I wasn’t able to watch any of my dramas since I was too busy so,this weekend after finishing my thesis I would resume (and enjoy) watching it.I hope my classmates and teachers would enjoy and would be safe this weekend.

Better days are coming……they’re called SATURDAY and SUNDAY.

HAVE A HAPPY WEEKEND!!!!!

The Inevitable: Understanding the 12 Technological Forces That Will Shape Our Future by Kevin Kelly is all about the advancement of technology, it’s a guide through the twelve technological imperatives that will shape the next thirty years and transform our lives.

According to Kelly, things that would happen in the next thirty years is unavoidable. The future will bring a lot more things, in the book he formed 12 trends that will change the way we work, learn and communicate. These 12 trends are the following:

  1. Becoming
  2. Cognifying
  3. Flowing
  4. Screening
  5. Accessing
  6. Sharing
  7. Filtering
  8. Remixing
  9. Interacting
  10. Tracking
  11. Questioning
  12. Beginning

Becoming is moving from fixed products to always upgrading services and subscription

Cognifying is making everything much smarter using cheap powerful AI (Artificial Intelligence) that we get from the cloud

Flowing depends on unstoppable streams in real time for everything.

Screening is turning all surfaces into screens

Accessing is shifting society from one where we own assets, to one where instead we will have access all the time.

Sharing is a collaboration at mass scale.

Filtering is harnessing intense personalization in order to anticipate our desires.

Remixing is unbundling existing products into their most primitive parts and then recombining in all possible ways.

Interacting is immersing ourselves inside our computers to maximize their engagement

Tracking is employing total surveillance for the benefit of citizens and consumers.

Questioning is promoting good questions is far more valuable than good answers.

Beginning is constructing a planetary system connecting all humans and machines into global matrix.

I personally like this book ( The Inevitable: Understanding the 12 Technological Forces That Will Shape Our Future) because it’s very helpful. It’s like a guide for the progressing and improving technology that we have. Kelly, has introduced the twelve trends properly and precise. The book is very clear and understandable as well. Kelly was able to explain what technology is and how it works. It
